Pastor, thank you for this. I was born in 1952, saved in my childhood, loved the Baptist church with my dear Mother. Then one month before I was 14 years old, my Mom died, overnight of a massive stroke. Suddenly my Mom, my best friend and consoler was gone and I was bereft and alone. I stumbled on and then two years later, a brother was killed in the Vietnam War. Those two events knocked me off my faith and I was a Prodigal to the Christian faith for 35 years. God did not stop pursuing me and I finally stumbled back Home in 2002. Slowly rebuilding my faith to this day. God is good, even if His ways are so different from ours. Thank you again for this powerful writing. Wendy Williams

God's End Time Revelation's avatar

These are very good thoughts! I'd also like to add that it is God who decides when it is time to die for us. Thus, it is always the right time. Life on earth is temporary, and its goal is to return to God by our own volition. A "premature" death (in our eyes) can happen because a soul's mission on earth has already been fulfilled or because God saves this soul from falling completely into the hands of Satan.

This will be relevant in the near future. Read the Revelation, and you will notice that an important part of people will die in wars and natural desasters. However, this might be a grace because they might be saved from belonging to those souls who will take the mark of the beast and, as a consequence, receive the same punishment as whom they followed.

The case of Lazarus is particular. The latter was resurrected to help people understand who Jesus actually is. In general, we just have to know that God decides when we have to leave the earth, and the best we can do for deceased loved-ones is to pray for them in case they have not achieved the goal of becoming God's children before leaving earth.
