Day 23: 100 Days of Discipleship

The devil is explicitly known and called the serpent of old in Revelations 20:2.

Who is the devil? :

One thing that stands out in any entity as the devil is simply perverted speech. The name devil actually means slanderer or accuser- Rev 12:9-10. What distinguishes the devil is his speech, what he stands for, and his mission. We identify this creature by his modus operandi which is primarily perverted speech.

The other name "Satan" means adversary, by this, it means he stands against the counsel of God.

The devil is not necessarily after your health, finances and all of that but he is primarily against the counsel of God or rather the prosperity of the word of God in your life.

In John 8:44, Jesus calls the devil the father of lies. He functions fundamentally by the pervasion of the message of Christ.

So therefore the number one way to discern Satan and his work is by perverted speech.

Ways to discern Satan:

1. Anywhere God is wrongly portrayed.

2. Everywhere you see false teachings: A point to note here is that the antichrist is firstly a message, and its plan is to decide people from the truth.

3. The doctrine of convenience and carnality.
